Who is Greg de Vries?

Greg founded MeditationCoach.com in 2004 because he believed the internet could bring meditation to people who would never walk into a studio or find a local teacher. Over the years he has taught in boardrooms, conference rooms, and community centers, including corporate workshops at Google, Yahoo, AOL, Brocade, and 8x8.

What he found in every setting was the same: people are hungry for stillness, and a skilled human teacher can give them something no app ever will.

What does he teach in this certification?

The program covers mindfulness and breath awareness, guided visualization, mantra and concentrative practice, spiritual and contemplative traditions in a secular teaching context, teaching methodology and ethics, and how to build a real coaching practice. The next cohort begins Wednesday, January 13, 2027. The course runs 12 weeks: 10 lessons plus two built-in catch-up weeks, after Lesson 2 and after Lesson 4. Life happens, so if you take a vacation, get sick, or fall behind, you can finish anytime within 16 weeks and still earn your certification. Public tuition is $997.

Why personal mentorship instead of a video-only course?

Most certifications are video courses with no one watching how you guide. In this program, Greg listens to your guided meditations, gives honest feedback, and works with you until you are genuinely ready to teach. Completing the program earns a personalized Certificate of Completion, the Certified Meditation Coach badge, and a permanent Certified Coach listing on MeditationCoach.com.
